This one is a little more of a personal adventure story, though it's still an example of a persuader doing what he does best.

Important stuff:
Yue: a state. It was later conquered by Chu in the 4th century BC
Zhang Tou: a guy who was being held hostage bu Yue for reasons unknown.

Zhang Tou was a hostage of Yue. The king of Yue wanted to kill him, so he ran. He was about to cross the border when a border guard caught him. Tou said, "The reason the king of Yue wants to kill me is that someone told him that I have a precious pearl, and the king wants to get it. I have already lost the pearl, but the king doesn't believe me. Now you are going to turn me in, but I will tell the king that you have taken the pearl from me and swallowed it. The king is certain to kill you, and cut open your stomach all the way to your organs. The king desires the pearl, and since you can't be persuaded, I will die and your organs will be cut into inches." The border guard was frightened and released him.
