So, I've got this IPA font, but how do I actually make the marks appear properly over or under a character?
Why on earth are my roommates watching Spanish soap operas?
"In the word actual, from the combination act+ual, an affricate has developed from the sequence [tj], that is, the stem-final [t] has a fricative release. But no frc=ication is found in the word annual, which originally had the same suffix as that in actual. Why should frication develop in one case and not the other?"
Fortunately, only one of these needs to be answered today.
